Depending on the circumstances, I would either contact a personal injury or workers comp attorney.

If he was working when he was assaulted the company is responsible for reimbursing your husband and THEN they can attempt to retrieve their losses from the attacker. Have him call his company and ask about their compensation package. If they give you any trouble at all, retain a compensation lawyer. You are only going to retrieve your losses unless his company (or the one he worked for) made some large mistake that directly allowed this attack to happen, so remember if you get a lawyer his fees WILL end up coming out of your judgement, which will ONLY recap your medical bills and loss wages. In all likelyhood his company will be happy to help with the process.

Depending on what state your in. In CA. if he was working the first part would be covered under workers comp, then you would have hire an attorney for the Personal injury part. It is in your best interest to seek the advice of an attorney asap. Good Luck!!

you need to consult an attorney. the security company should compensate him for injuries he got while on duty. and in all likelihood, the security company has more money than the attacker, who you are unlikely to get anything out of. but if you do want to sue him, you need to consult an attorney. And if your husband is getting compensation from the security company, you also need to consult an attorney, to make sure you're not getting screwed by them, too.

also, you need to save copies of all documentation, both from his employer and any medical records. also, take pictures of all his injuries as soon as possible. get contact information for witnesses.

X2 about depending on the circumstances...
Sometimes whos right and wrong has nothing to do with how injury of the victim is...
get more detail first and then contact a lawyer...

if you wait to long ,you may have to break his nose again for the doctors report.
