IF THE ENGINE TURNS OVER VERY EASY AND JUST MAKES A NOISE WHILE TURNNING IT OVER THEN YOU MIGHT HAVE TO REPLACE THE TIMMING BELT AND MAKE SHURE YOU HAVE SPARK TO ALL CYLENDERS AND TO ALL SPARK PLUG WIRES AND TO THE PLUGS MY ESCORT BLEW A TIMMING BELT WHILE I WAS DRIVEING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT 65 MILES A HOUR AND BOOM IT WENT OUT CAR SHUTS OFF AND WE COME TO A STOP I TRY AND TRY TO START IT BUT NO LUCK SO I CALL A TOW TRUCK AND TOW IT TO OUR MECHANIC SHOP WHERE I OWN THE BUINESS AND FIXED THE TIMMING BELT AND IT WAS OFF AND RUNNING AGAIN SO TRY THAT AND THE SPARK CHECK TOO OK HOPE THIS HELPS THANKS........

if you batter is flat it may still make your lights go! if the engine is getting fuel, how the heck did you come to the conclusion you starter is ok they only thing they have in common is that they are both on your car! Seroiusly lady, try a detailed description, the moe info you give the more accurate feedback you will get, did tit crank over at normal speed, did it backfire before turning off, is it manual, what make /model /year is it? Have you had any work does to it lately, or in the past few months, how often do you use it, how many Kms (miles) has it done.... details you see?!

Its a problem that needs to go to a dealer to fix, it could be one of a hundred things from a sensor to the ECU or it could be major like a blown engine.

There's no telling with the info given. Do you have spark? Does the engine still turn over? Are you getting any error codes on the computer? Call AAA or a repair shop.

The timing belt or chain is a good bet, though it could be a lot of things.

have you checked your oil? sometimes it doesnt do it's purpose correctly at startup. if not, take it to the dealer. there are hundreds of parts that could be the problem that only dealers know how to fix.

i own a repair shop, and really you didn't provide enough information to answer this one on,it could be a number of things that could cause it to do this, all you can do is have it checked out by a good mechanic they would be able to tell you more on this one, good luck.
