On nation wide rails transporting toxic/hazordous material through our backyards? Even if they don't de-rail, there is still a danger of leakage that can injure/kill people, animals and wildlife, not to mention contaminating our water. One of our news stations is going to be reporting on this tonight.

Well, we have the toxic/hazardous material and it does have to go someplace. There is probally no good way that will make everybody happy getting it from point A to point B. If someone comes up with a better solution, bring it on. Sure there is danger, but there is danger walking across the highway, there is danger some terrorist will nuke us all away.

i cant think of a safer way to move them than by train.how about we move it in trucks?highways being the single most dangerous way to travel,im sure therell never be an accident.or fly it,that way when it crashes, there will be a toxic gas cloud floating around from the explosion.i notice you didnt offer an alternative.i guess youre one of the many who just like to complain.

Why don't you ask the militant anti-smokers the same question? Been mine for years, afraid of cigarette smoke while the highway (or railway) is a much more lethal source of "second hand" carcinogens.

Peace.

There are so many things just like that is that I hear about. I think if everyone were to designate to a cause.....study and inform the public, we could work to make these things better...but...money has taken over....if people are going to lose money....they wont change what they are doing....its really sad.

Julie is right. Most people want what is best, as long as someone else is willing to pick up the tab.

They have to be moved, so why not do it the safest way possible.
