Of course, if they're still giving you macaroni necklaces they made in college, then maybe it's time to talk.........

I consider that a very big advantage. You have something to hold over their heads when they think they are all grown up and gripe when their children do the same aggravating stunts they did as kids.
Bring out all the homemade gifts you received and show the grandkids that mommy or daddy were really little once. Then start with the stories about how mommy or daddy did the same silly stunts they pull.
Let the good times roll!!!
P.S. They also make cute shadow boxes that you can give your grown children and let them decide what to do with them. Mine hang them next to their own children's artwork.

I just came across some thing that my daughter painted...she doesn't remember painting and I can't tell what it is.
Right now, she's at the age where she'd rather buy stuff than make it for us and that's fine with me. She does well with parent gifts...with some guidance from the grandparents of course.

I think that's the best part of having a kid!
I have a box in storage for each of my kids and when they make something or whatever, I put it in their corresponding box, for their own children to see or to embarrass them with at their wedding :-)

I love to get things that my daughter made at school. They mean more than any mass produced store bought stuff.

I would call it an advantage, but I may need to rent a storage space, lol.
