Sounds very lucrative on the face of it, but one of the most difficult (dangerous) line of activity for now. Take "extremely" thorough consultations before you get yourself involved in Mineral Water Manufactering Business in retailing - Like Bisleri/Aqua pure?

it is pretty good and the competition is huge not to say the least of its ever growing market. things have begun to settle down but a more and more de-salinzation plants are cropping up the industry seems to be in a great demand. however it is still to premature to speculate whether any investment in this direction is mandatory. buying bottled water could cost you anything between INR 10.00 to INR 18.00 whereas the manufacturing cost for the same stuff could be as low as INR. 3.75 to INR 4.25

this article will give you some idea
Buckling under pressure from multinationals and reducing margins, Super Cassettes Industries (SCIL), owner of the T-Series brand name, is winding up Ganga mineral water business. The company has also rung down curtains on its loss-making home appliances and ceiling fan manufacturing venture. The company has now decided to concentrate on core business in the entertainment industry, besides diversifying into juices and food products in a tie-up with a Swiss manufacturer, company sources told The Times of India. Confirming the move, SCIL MD Bhushan Kumar said, "We have undertaken a restructuring exercise within SCIL and have decided to close down our loss-making and non-core businesses." "The mineral water business was a shrinking venture and volumes went down further with the entry of multinationals. Margins were very low and increased transportation costs was straining bottomline. We saw no sense in pursuing this business as selling water for Rs 12 a litre did not bring desired returns," Kumar said. Though the company has decided to dispose of the plant and other assets of its mineral water business, it will retain the Ganga brandname. The fan manufacturing venture was closed due to the company's inability to compete with cheap imports from China. "It was never our core business and with the arrival of cheaper products from China, we saw our sales dropping further," Kumar added. But, the company has decided to use the Chinese muscle to fight the Japanese and Korean consumer electronics majors in India. The company is planning to import CKD and SKD kits of televisions, VCD players and audio systems from China, assemble and market them under the T-Series brandname. "China today offers good electronic products at the best prices. We are planning to use this strength to carve out a place in the consumer electronics market." In addition, SCIL is also devising a strategy to increase its presence in the entertainment industry. "We are planning to hawk music through the Net, besides joining hands with the Time Warner Music for introducing international rock and pop bands in India under the T-series brand. Talks have already been initiated and the ventures would be finalised shortly." SCIL has also decided to take on the might of Parle Frooti and Tropicana in India with its proposed diversification into fruit juices. Refusing to divulge the name of the Swiss partner, Kumar said, SCIL is setting up a separate wholly-owned subsidiary --R'n B International --for the food products business. "We will initially import the juices and biscuits into India, package and market them under a joint brandname. But at a later stage, we are contemplating setting up a manufacturing facility here."

first u need to have the source of water...

the main thing in this is transport and logistic plus the network you build of retailers.

you cant enter this segment unless you have good experience at it. if you wish to start, then first try entering this through pouches then migrating to bottles.

in pouches investmnet will be very less.
