What is the signal strength for a cable TV ? Mine sucks ! ! ! !?

Can anyone tell me what kind of checks can be performed on testing singal strengths and what levels I should have ?. I am tired of the cable company coming out and telling me the problem must be inside the house... My televisions all work, I just have the damdest luck with the high speed part..

If it sucks you may be getting a better signal that others from the sucking. I switched to satellite because of all those problems. It is much better now.
