Native American History month is November.

You can google it to get a lot of sources that explain details of events.

I don't know. I am glad they have black history month because it reminds me to celebrate how far we have come and the people who pave the way. Don't Native Americans get some type of money or grant from the government from Caucasian taking your land? If you are really serious, you can organise a Native American History month. It might start small in your community and spread. Get up and fight for what you want. Don't get angry at African Americans. We are a minority just like you. Black people fight for what we want and injustice.

Thanks *karasi* for the information. See you do have a month to celebrate in November and you didn't even know it. It's called National American Indian Heritage Month. You should be ashamed of yourself. Maybe you don't want to celebrate your heritage at all but only want to complain about Black History month.

I try to learn and experience diversity everyday. I encourage my son to have friends of different races and cultures. My family attend different Ethnic Fest through out the year.

Give it time, it will happen. If you want one bad enough, why not start a grass-roots effort or lobby to have a Native-American History month? It makes perfect sense since the Native-Americans WERE the original people here. That, to me, should have taken priority over the Black History month, since they were here before the Blacks were.
No offense to the Blacks--they deserve their month also.

It is November. It is NOT as pupular as the Black History Month, because not that many Native Americans care about it. They are busy expanding their casinos.

There needs to be. There are enough major cultures to fill the 12 months in the year. It's about time we do so.

Great question.

We should have had a Native American history month long before a black history month. That's just common sense!

Why narrow it down when you had the other 11 month? or do you want 13 month? out of a year now...

I think we do, it's in November. Not sure myself though it's not like it's talked about or celebrated like other ethnic groups though. I guess there isn't enough of us left to matter.
