Sonoffun, that was Nikolai Volkoff...
I remember Nikita and his many battles with Magnum TA for the NWA United States title. Those were some classic matches; wrestlers today should look back on them and learn a thing or two.
I was at an NWA house show once when I saw Nikita have a woman thrown out of the arena. I'm not sure if she said something offensive to him or hit him with something, but he wasn't about to get in that ring until she was gone.

yeah!!!i remember him,Nelson Simpson is a former American professional wrestler who wrestled throughout the 1980s and early 1990s as "The Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff, which was a play off of the nickname of fan favorite "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (in fact, it was Rhodes that gave him the nickname).

Yes him and Dusty Rhodes had some great matches in the NWA. I don't think he's in the wwe hall of fame. That must be his brother the Russian Bear Ivan Koloff.

I remember him.His real name is Nelson Scott Simpson. He was born March 9, 1959. Even though he was billed from Russia he was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He retired in November 1992 after a match against Big Van Vader. Big Van Vader delievered a powerful clothesline sending Nikita to the hospital.

Yes. He never wrestled for Vince. His battles with Sting is what I remember. Also with his relative the Evil Ivan Koloff. I also remember him being a face not a heal. The crowd loved that bald, phsyco eyed , freak. He was very intense....

Heck yeah! The Russian Sickle was a bada** move. It's too bad he never got really famous. He never did go to WWF. He was like Goldberg except he actually had more than two moves. I've been watching him a lot on the old TBS WCW telecasts from the mid -eighties on WWE 24/7 (the best thing WWE does these days).
The guy above is thinking of Nikoli Volkoff from WWF.

Big red Russian hat and red wrestling tights. Used to fight back in the day with Hogan, Junk Yard Dog, Tito Santana and Roddy Piper.
