It's actually very simple.
Once you put the ad up (and it's not blocked or removed by ebay for violating the terms of use) it's made public.
The public then places bids on the item(s). Whoever has the highest bid at the close of auction wins.
The buyer then makes the payment to you as per your instructions.
You ship the item. buyer receives item.
Both buyer and seller have the opportunity to rate each other on the transaction and the item.

Well, you will need to setup a paypal account and an Ebay account. Then you will pay ebay a hosting fee to auction off your item(you can put a reserve to say the minimum it must sell for). Someone meets the highest bid then they pay you for it through paypal and you mail the item.

yes in fact ebay does make a profit, you make an account for free but to accually list an item i think it costs something per listing you put up, then the rest is up to you if you pay or the buyer pays (shipping, handling ect..)
so basicly ebay requires a small fee for every item you list .. ..

yea-you'll have to set up an ebay account-if your only accepting money orders you won't need paypal-but if you take debit and credit cards then you will need to set up a paypal account and yes it takes a small percentage from you. Overall its pretty simple-after you set up your account you just take a picture-list your item and sell sell sell!
