Is it just a coincidence that the earth began to signifigantly warm just as the industrial revolution began??

Even Bush put the polar bear on the endangered species list due to the melting ice.

The earth is in temperature cycles that last thousands of years. We are nowhere near the end of our current climate stage, yet republicans claim that this is natural. This is the first time in history that the temperature cycle has changed. It should be a few thosand more years until the earth starts warming. Global warming is not natural!!

Fun Fact -

Number of wildlife preserves clinton opened - 203
Number of wildlife preserves opened by bush - 2

Is a ford expedition really neccesary republicans?? I sure see alot of you driving them.

For those who ask - I rarely drive - I take the train and ride my bike. I know how to conserve unlike some of you republicans

Is the earth warming. The ice cap in Antartica has increased 98% since this so called global warming begin. How come the average temperature in Southern California has decreased over the last 30 years. In the 60's almost every day in summer over 100 now not uncommon for a 70. How come in the 60's before modern smog equipment people were talikng about global freezing being right around the corner. Why were there periods on earth where the earth's temperature was higher than now in 1700 and 1800's. long before modern man made pollutants? Why do people ignore the fact that if we spend what some suggest to fix something that we cannot fix it will kill 2,000 people a year. This money could have been spent feeding children in Africa. How do we ignore the 1000's of people who would not die of severe cold if we indeed had global warming? What about the increased food production because places in Canada and or China once to cold for agriculture now become farmland to feed a billion people? Maybe those such as Al Gore are too blind to their mistaken beliefs to care? Another question. Why are the people who believe in global warming the same type of people who believe in UFO's etc. The flat earth society believes in global warming. Maybe if we get it out of our heads that people are not God and only God can destroy the Earth we might wake up and stop the nonsense.

To answer your question, the earth has not begun to warm significantly just as the industrial revolution began. Try to wrap your mind around how in the world anyone could possibly extrapolate any useful trend information when the required data is laughably inadequate. 3 tenths of a degree? You need a pretty accurate thermometer to even see that. Do you know what the temperatures in the Arctic are? Do you know how much of an increase you would need to significantly raise it above freezing? If you tasked the scientists of the world to deliberately melt the Arctic ice enough to raise the sea level to flood most of Florida they could never get it done in a hundred years. For all the ownership the greenies of the world have on environmental issues how come they don't realize that when you increase or decrease something in the environment, nature compensates by changing many other things to bring it back into balance. The earth is not as fragile as you seem to think. If the earth really got significantly warmer there would be much more cloud cover for instance. That would reduce the sun's influence and return the earth to balance. Believe me people with an agenda that has nothing to do with the environment are lying to you and you are accepting what they say without question.

1) Whats more important? The temp going up a whole 7/10ths of a degree because of the industrial age OR creating material, technology, and jobs for our country? Some how I don't see you working on daddy's farm til you die at the age of 40 bc we didn't have the technology to save your life from something as stupid as an off the wall infection.

2) I honestly don't care about polar bears compared to the human race.

3) If its the first time in history that we are having a climate change, where are the whackos that claimed a climate cooling in the 70s? And if you don't count that... being that no one was alive to accurately document and geological era studies of our earth are theoretical at best, How do scientist really know what a climate stage time line really is?

4) If you want more wildlife preserves, ask your rich buddies like Kerry's wife to finance a couple more, keep the government out of it!

5) My brother's girlfriend is democrat and every single one of her democratic friends drive expensive SUVs like her full sized explorer... her best friend Kristin even has a full sized escalade!!!

6) Where do you work? a business building, restaurant, walmart,...? All those places take tons more energy up in seconds then my little kia rio takes to travel to school. I guess you must not care about the environment unless your place of work runs on nothing but solar power.

The Global temperatures also rose significantly during the Medieval Climate Optimum (10th century to 14th century). They then cooled again during the Little Ice Age (which coincidentally we had just emerged from in the 19th century). Was this due to carbon emissions also? No. The early twentieth century warming was more rapid than the warming we are seeing now and in between that warming and the current warming there was a period of cooling. Your suggestion that this is the first time in history that the temperature cycle has change is absolutely false.

Is a Ford expedition really necessary? Maybe not. But do you have any idea how much CO2 the trucks that shipped your bike to the store emitted? Is a bike really necessary?

When did the industrial revolution begin, oh smart one? In the 1800's. Bush wasn't even around then, so you can't blame him. Also, has it not been proven that the Earth goes through heating up and cooling down phases throughout it's lifetime? Uh, yeah, by those people you allegedly trust called "scientists." Scientist always say that the Earth is always changing, so how do you know that this isn't just one of those "changes?" You have no proof that it's Bush's fault that the Earth is getting warmer. And in case you haven't noticed, we're in the middle of a war, so the President doesn't exactly have all the time in the world to open up wildlife reserves.

ps. how can you tell that only Republicans drive big SUV's? Last time I checked, Al Gore, Prince of Global Warming, has quite a few, not to mention a private jet that he uses almost every day. Talk about hypocritical.

How generalized to say that only repulicans drive SUV's and only democrats know how to conserve!

The average temperature was higher during the medieval times, way before any industries started up! And how do you explain scientists with facts that in some areas the polar ice caps are actually thickening! Besides, from what I've read, the gloabl cycles don't necessarily have to last for thousands of years. It may only last for a couple hundred. Not to mention, the warming is suppose to be from the sun.

I have no doubt man is destroying this planet, but I don't believe we are the cause of global warming! I've come across quite abit of facts from highly regarded scientists that dispute the gloabal warming claim!

So how many wildlife preserves do you want in each state? How many states are the in U.S.? How many states have preserves? How many animals do you think are on the endangered list...and most of them are endangered because they were hunt down and killed!

Whats wrong with a Ford? I don't personally like them for myself, but it shows that people drive what they can afford. We can't take trains to where we want to do. We don't have L trains for going to work. We have to drive. To commute to a train to get somewhere else, we might as well just drive it. You're just being unrealistic. Most people in my state have over 25 miles 'one way' on their commute. We live in Michigan and can't do that in winter. You're not using your head for anything except a 'hat rack'. Think in realism, not jerk-ism.

The earth goes in cycles...and has since the end of the Ice Age. Did you take a science class? Do you believe that TREES now give off greenhouse gases and NOT make oxygen from carbon dioxide??? Ya wanna cut down all the trees??? Global warming is natural...and so is cooling. Why don't you really do your own research instead of listening to the people who are going to make the most money and kickbacks from the NEW investments you make. GET A GRIP!!

What in the world does your 'fun fact' have to do with global warming? No more than the one that Clinton signed off on a bill that eventually allowed people to harvest the Giant Redwoods and Bush put a stop to it. As for your so called information about the warming I've heard so many different so called facts about global warming you liberals need to get togeather and decide on one set of facts.

Dude, who cares if the earth is warming... That shouldn't be the issue. What neither side can disagree with is the links between mercury and fossil fuels to cancer in humans. Obviously nobody can argue that the trash being put in the air is harmful to us and the environment, but as long as everyone is focused on global warming, nothing will be done about it. It will be debated for years along with illegal immigration, abortion and so many other things that aren't being solved but are being used solely for political agendas, and the people are being used with them.

The facts about global warming do not support your claims:

http://www.clearlight.com/~mhieb/WVFossils/ice_ages.html

Yes global warming is real. We didn't cause it. Polar Bears going extinct didn't cause it. The number of wildlife preserves didn't cause it, the fact you can't afford a Ford Expedition didn't cause it. Neither the bike you ride, nor the flatulence you produce, caused global warming.

Clear it up for ya?

Edit: Wow, Jace! NICE ANSWER!!
