When they ring you up everything is rang up seperately. The price is still lower than if you bought it seperate.

they ring the drink in seperatly for a number of reasons. first of all the price isnt the meal price untill the drink has been rung in. this is done for 2 reasons 1st is so the drive thru team will know what the customer wants to drink, coke, power ade ect... also a lot of placese mcdonnalds at least have automatic drink stations so whe the drink is rung up the machine will make it. anouther reason is in case a customer wants to upgrade their order to a shake or larger drink. that way they can pay the difference,
your still getting the drink at the meal price, its just not the full price untill the drink is rung in.

The drink comes with their meals, you have to order a burger, fries and then you get the drink. You never get anything for free, anywhere, always look for the catch, or as they say, read the fine print.

when you order the meal up on their menu it will say the price including the drink, but most places will charge you for the meal and the drink seperatly but it will atill equal the price advertised on the menu. Basically helps with inventory and sales.

Working in fast food with the drink like McDonald's the reason it rings up is for more money I guess you can say. Like for instance, we ring up for 2 apple pie's for $1. Adding sales tax is also something we must do. But the reason to adding it rather than it coming free is more revenue for our business. Or sometimes they just do that just to for you to pay more.

I think they do that because they ask what size you want and depending on if you go bigger they charge a little more change per size up

it's for inventory purposes. they count cups, lids, straws, etc...
it's still charging the correct total price listed on the menu.
