Into the Night by Benny Mardones from 1980. He did a re-recording about 1989. The original is the best.

I love this song, although it's kind of creepy if you listen to the words. I suppose it never says how old he is, but if they're telling him to stay away from her because she's 16, maaaybe he should listen to them. Heh, I suppose age is nothing but a number.. but still.
