Please suggest a good washing machine. Preferably a top loading as my wife cannot bend due to back problem?

Suggest some thing which is sturdy,gives good wash & lasts longer. Also suggest a good detergent to go with. My requirement is in Bangalore.

We had a Whirlpool for 12 years or more, still runs great. We recently bought a new one but only because we wanted a larger one.
