She said that she doesn't remember who it was. She made me promise not to tell anyone. I can really tell that it bothers her. I can't decide what would be best for her. Not breaking her trust in me, or telling her parents and getting her some help. Please help.

Should she bring it up again....Tell her that 1 in 6 girls are molested (mostly by a family member) Do not break her trust. I wonder what is happening in her life right now that triggered her to remember this now. As a child she had no control about what happened. Now as a teenager, that can not happen again because she knows how to stand up for herself. If she does not bring it up again it is possible that just telling you was enough.

except there is advantageous info that this individual easily MOLESTED a toddler, i would not say a single observe approximately it--after all, it is going to be in the papers and that i'm advantageous all your friends can examine.... he could desire to o.k. be harmless (possibly) and additionally you would be spreading gossip in case you advised absolutely everyone---fantastically when you consider which you have been "advised IN self assurance".... i assume no one has any concept what "IN self assurance" potential from now on---oh this is in comparison to you're a clergyman listening to a confession or something yet while this guy could desire to finally finally end up being harmless or a case of wrong identiy or something WHICH DOES take place, you may desire to look fairly silly.... if the guy CONFESSED, then by utilising all potential tell the international in case you will like.. because of the fact if he CONFESSED to hurting a toddler---absolutely everyone could desire to be responsive to he's risky. yet on condition that he's surely responsible of what he became into arrested for....

I would talk with her and try to get her to talk to someone about this. This happened to one of my good friends and it haunted her for years, until he got help. Since she has received help and understands that it WAS NOT HER FAULT, she is much happier and is a very successful woman now. I would urge her to talk to someone, a school counselor, a doctor, her parents, your parents, someone. She needs a support system, be there for your friend. Just remember that it will be painful, but it will get worse before it gets better.

I am 42, and I have had some creepy experiences in my younger years. The fact that she opened up to you is good. Can you offer to go with her to speak to a school counselor, if there is one you both trust? Otherwise, how about your own parents, if she's scared to go to her own? Be there for her.

Urge her to talk to the school counselor, who can steer her to professional resources.

If her parents can be told, they might figure out who it was and report that person. Then, that person won't be able to molest others. Your friend may be able to save other children from the same fate, so you should urge her to tell.
