They feel fine. The people at the eye doctor will teach her how to put them in . then they will tell her to wear them 4 or more hours the next day and wear them more and more until her eyes adjust to them but to her it will feel odd and kind of irritate her in the beginning but her eyes will adjust to a film over them if anything its not the contacts you have to worry about its the constant jamming your finger in your eye to get them in that hurts

i got mine in fifth grade, and the eye doctor will advise you on how to wear them the first week.
generally, the first day you are only supposed to wear them for two hours, the next four hours, and so on until you are wearing them all day.
also, be sure to leave your contacts out at least one day a week, or take them out right as you get home.
be sure to use the same type of brand of solution that the doctor gives you every time you run out, because if you buy the wrong kind, it can negatively effect the lenses by leaving a thick coating on them, and making you see cloudy.
mine didnt hurt the first day, but i had some trouble getting them on. i was so happy though.

Weird. I'm getting contacts tomorrow too its going to be my first time. & Yes actually we do need time to get used to them same when wearing glasses and we can wear them if we want to to get used to them earlier, they might hurt like irritate your eyes at first when putting the contacts on but you wont for a few days it depends on the type of contacts. For a 16 y/o shes old enough to take the responsibility on her contacts, and if you have any question ask the eye docter they will definetly help.
Take care

When I first wore them I started slow, wearing them for a half day at first and then after a week or so moving up to a full day. They dont "hurt" but they do feel weird. I mean you have things in your eyes, you're gonna feel something!

I dont think it is smart to all of a sudden wear them all day every day. Start slow...

When I first got contacts I wore them home. Personally, I wouldn't say it hurt but it does feel funky. Unless you put the contact in backwards, then it hurts. But they should go over all that with her. Least they did with me.

The hard part for me was learning how to get it in my eye without blinking. I got up earlier for school so that I knew I had enough time to put them in. Now I'm a pro, just takes some time getting used too.

Hopefully that helps!

No you don't really need time to get used them. The hardest part is taking them out and putting them in. For the first month I had contacts, I could take an hour for me to put them in and take them out. You need to get used to touching your eye and getting them in right. Just encourage your daughter to keep at it despite any frustration she feels. Btw I just started using Night and Day contacts and love them. You can leave them in for a week at a time, sometimes longer if you're forgetful like me.

**** Luck to your daughter!

she can wear them tomorrow, most likely.
when i first got my contacts, i have to wear them gradually (4 hours the first day, 6 the next, then 8 etc. until it got to all day)

they might be slightly noticable/uncomfortable the first time, but it's completely normal. when i first got them, it took me forever to get them on and off! so i set my alarm clock early early for a while to make sure i had enough time, lol. but i mastered it in no time :)

I walked out with them in. They didn't hurt me at all and I got used to them really quickly. I was happy for the rest of the day.
