Math is a spatial intelligence, so is navigating from point a to point b, or drawing - because it is a spatial representation of an object.....
What good is it? Sigh. Only someone with it would ask that.

I think it is when you can visualize and control shapes and motions in inner space, the minds eye so to say. Some people can not imagine how things fit together unless the do it in space and time those that can imagine have better degrees of spatial intelligence. The benefits would include not wasting time trying to figure out how to make things fit or an ability to understand how things that are still would move if they were in motion. Artists, architects, athletics, engineers, are just a few who use this skill.

spatial intelligence refers to things like math and geometry, knowing how big something is, what shape fits into a puzzle, that sort of thing. Men generally have higher spatial intelligence than women, women have higher communications intelligence (verbal, expression, etc). It goes a long way toward understanding that my son is much better at jigsaw puzzles and geometry than I ever was.
