Absolutely! Most scholarships are few and far between, and if you have been chosen for interview, chances are you already stand out. That being said, it is always appropriate to extend a simple word of thanks (handwritten, NOT e-mail) to anyone who has shown you kindness. Make sure that you haven't committed any spelling or grammatical errors before you send your note, however! :)

I believe it is. I think teachers deserve every bit of recognition they get. Think about how proud that teacher is of you. Return the gratitude and show them how proud you are of them. I don't think teachers get enough praise (or salary). Make their day!
