Please, thoughts on a lip piercing?

I would really like a lip piercing. im only 13. Many of my friends are saying i should get it done. i've wanted one forever, but my father said he would rip any piercing out that i got besides my ears.

I am very responsible. i have read up on how to take care of a piercing, the disatventages and everything.

im not doing this for attention, im not HxC, im SxE.


how do i convice my parents, a fake ring maybe? HELP?!?

theoreticaly speaking my dad would rip it out. i doubt he will but you never know. And im a female.

i got my lip pierced when i was 11, i'm now 17 and a fine, responsible young adult, and i don't regret it at all. PS, kissing is fine with it, so shut the hell up (that wasn't to the asker by the way, that was to one of the answerers).
my best advice is to wait. he probably wouldn't truly rip it out, but he would be pretty pissed at you for a while. luckily, i have a great mom who supported me.
my secondary advice is to bargain with him. ask him why not, and if he says something non-answer like "just no" then keep prodding. is he concerned your grades will fall? bargain with him that you will keep your current grades or better if he lets you get your lip pierced. (and if he takes this bargain, DO NOT FAIL ON IT, or bargaining will never work again, ever, for anything.) i don't know your dad at all, so this is the best advice i can give. good luck!

first, if your father actually did rip it out that would be abuse and that would lead to a whole lot of other issues...
unfortunately it is tricky when you are underage. if the place you're getting it done doesn't require parental consent then they are probably a bit shady and i would question the safety of getting it done there. there is the possibility of forging their signatures and convincing a reputable place that your parents are ok with it but again, that could get a little messy.
all that aside, if you want to convince your parents that you should be allowed to get it i would say to first find out what their objections are. if they say you shouldn't get it because THEY think it is trashy or inappropriate, you could argue the angle that it is your body, but you may be out of luck.
if their argument is that you are too young or not responsible enough to take care of it, prove them wrong by being responsible around the house and present them with facts about the piercing and care, ect. show them you are not entering into the decision lightly and that you have researched everything involved.

unfortunatley while you live with ya parents you have to stick to there rules .
you are only 13 wait till you have left school to have it done it gives you time to think it through what looks good now might be crap in a couple of years .besides kids at school might rip it out you know you kids have ya little fights . wear a fake one for a bit like you sed in a few months there be a new trend about and you might not like ya lip done.

Lips tend to infect easier

...and it looks dumb, IMHO.

When you get out this phase and grow up, you may wish you hadn't done it because of the scars you will have.

If you were my kid, I'd let you do it anyway. Life is tough, it gets tougher when you're stupid. End of lesson, have fun.

ok, why would you want a lip piercing? thats a major turn off. not sure if ur a girl or a guy, but either way, thats really gross. i mean a hole in your lip! ew! and imagine trying to kiss with it..... *puke*

I'm gettin a double piercing on my ear and my parents said they would punish me badly!

you usually have to be at least 14 to get any other peircings becides and earlobe at a tatoo parlor. i think theyre ugly your dad shouldn't tear your peircing out if you do get it peirced , it will tear your skin.
