i dont think that lazily putting up shots while your just shooting around can make you a much better player. what do you guys do in your practice time to maximize your time?

Shoot FTs and make a contest out of it, to see how many you can hit in a row, or if you can hit fade aways or turn arounds

Dribble with your left hand and behind your back. Do things that feel akward and hard to do. Get good at them. Then go to the court and play against real opponents and you will become a great player.
Practice your shots as if someone is in your face. Dont worry if you dont always make the bucket Just keep practicing like that.
Also pick a good player and copy his moves.

go to the park and play some people there. You should try to play the good players it helps develope your skills better because you'll have to think a little harder on how to score on them.
