My dad used to rent a house out to his friend, his's friend's girlfriend, and children. His friend was sent to jail a while back and my dad agreed to let the girl stay there as long as she paid the rent. She stopped paying the rent in October. My dad sent her some papers giving her a warning. She still didn't pay. Then he sent her a 30 day eviction notice. She didn't pay or leave! So my dad got a lawyer to get her out because they've been having a lot of issues with unlawful evictions and stuff on the news or whatever....but newhos. The lawyer said that the girl's stuff could be removed from the house and the locks could be changed. My dad hired a locksmith. The guy felt bad for the girl and didn't change the locks. She just had a baby the beginning of the month. She has been taking her children to live in the house for weeks now. There is no electricity or anything. She has those children freezing in that house.I know there has to be a way to get her kids taken.

Butt out and let your Dad handle it.
He's the landlord.

Call Social Services and explain this situation to them and keep calling to see if they actually sent someone out to the situation. Is there places where you live, like the Children's Inn? They will take in both mother and kids and help them get on their feet. Horrible situation for your dad to be in....also horrible for her and the kids. Even if the house has no heat she probally figures it still is protecting her kids from the outside elements. Those poor kids.

Go to the website below for contact info for your state's Dept of Social Services.

Write them a brief note and mail it to their office.
Just say there is a woman with kids living in a house without utilities. Give the address. It would be best if you can use a typewriter (They might be able to tell by your handwriting, that you are a youth.)

DO NOT CONTACT THEM BY USING YOUR COMPUTER AND THE INTERNET - THEY CAN TRACE IT BACK TO YOU. Would your Dad be upset with you?

Call Child Protective Services and report it. You're right, those children should NOT be in a place with no electricity in the winter!

There is a child protection agency in every state. Just call them and tell it to them. They love taking children from there parents. Then you can be OH! so proud of yourself.

Yeah there is. Call a social worker so she can come investigate the situation.

Call social services. It is their duty to protect children. Thanks for caring.
