Weathering---the destructive process by which rocks are changed on exposure to atmosheric agents at or near the earth's surface, with little or no transportation of the loosened or altered material.

erosion----the wearing away of soil and rock, relocating it from its original location, by mass wasting, the actions of streams, glaciers, waves, wind, and underground water.

Deposition---the laying down of rock-forming materials by any natural agent, e.g. the mechanical settling of sediment from suspension in water.
