You know, since, as the saying goes, if you stongly believe in something, you can make it happen. I mean, she really wants to fly.

1). Cats cant fly.
2). Since *most* mammals have heavy bones, not hollow bones like bird, we and other mammals cannot fly because our bone mass is too heavy.
3).Depending on how heavy your cat is, she might fly for a few seconds, then start dropping to the floor.
4). Gravity.
5). How would you possibly know that she believes that she can fly?!?!?
6). You should always keep your doors closed, or with a net/mesh thingy protecting things from falling out the window.
7). Of course your cat cannot fly, so my answer is officially NO!

For God's sake keep the patio door closed! She won't fly. She will land on her feet because cats do but the impact may break her legs. Yes you can believe strongly in something but you can not fly (so please don't you try to fly off the balcony either!!!) There are certain things beyond our control: the law of gravity & the fact that we don't have wings!
You could however take flying lessons & get your pilot's license. This is the closest you'll get! Or dream of flying!
Please don't let your cat get hurt! Cats are the most beautiful perfect creatures on earth! But they can not fly!!!

If you truly love your cat your will keep her off the patio. A cat cannot "fly". They can sometimes survive a fall from a second story, but I wouldn't want to take a chance. Keep the patio doors shut! Donn't even let her go out when you are out there. It's too dangerous. My cat means the whole world to me and I would not put her in danger.

She (the cat) believes she can catch the bird.. Not fly.
Going off the patio is just part and parcel of the act of catching the bird. It dosent bother her.. she is 2 stories up.
Hey.. as a fun idea.. make her a Lycra suit so she could glide down instead falling like a rock.

common sense...
dont jump off of a 2 story building, i mean, do you honestly think that your cat can really fly?
gravity will pull your cat down and just a matter of a second she will be badly injured or dead.
you may need counsling if you think animals such as cats can fly (and i say that not trying to be insulting) but seriously make sure she doesnt jump or you will have a vet bill to pay and you wouldnt want to tell the vets that you thought your cat could fly.

I don't know. Why don't you try jumping off and seeing if you can fly?
Physics trumps thought. If one isn't humanly capable of doing something, they're never going to be. Humans/cats were not built to fly. Our bone structures are heavy, our metabolisms are too slow, etc.
