I want to confront him about his passive aggressive insults. But I fear that if I let go, I may end up taking it way over the edge. How should I handle a bully teacher who might be giving me an F simply because he doesnt like me?

Before you go to your supervisor, buy a small but high quality tape recorder that you can stick in your pocket, yet still pick up his voice loud and clear. Make sure you have plenty of tape in, and that it has started up without him seeing or hearing it. When you have plenty of these comments taped and proven, then go to his supervisor and you will be well armed. Oh, and after each class, write down the date and time and content of each harrassive statement as well.

If you can change your seating arrangement, if you each pick your own chair every day, sit right up front and listen to everything he has to say!! He already knows students hate him or at least that he is less than popular!! So treat him with respect and attention and he will be much more than a little surprised!! It's hard to do, I know, but you asked what would work, right??@8-)

Document everything you turn in to him. You can always file an appeal if a teacher gives you an unfair grade (I'm assuming you're in college). Also, if it's that big a deal and you're afraid it will effect your g.p.a, discuss your problem with him face-to-face. Tell him you're there to learn and that his attitude doesn't foster learning. Good luck.

Go directly to his supervisor, insist that the supervisor not reference anything specific that you mention, but that he persue a general complaint about the persons behaviour. Instructors are ALWAYS on very thin ice when it comes to their students, they are easily replacable, though few actually accept this fact.
