I think that there were at least 4 other women in her category that I would have expected to win before her.
Talk about equal opportunity: a child, an Asian, an African American, a Mexican and a woman as white as humanly possible.

Good for her. She's come a long way since American Idol!
Honestly, I think the people that win on American Idol are worse off than those who don't win but still get noticed by the public. They aren't tied down by American Idol's binding contract and bad music.

I did not think she would win. But, I'm very happy for her and that dress looks MUCH better w/out that aluminum foil jacket!

I am elated. That role was made for her, and she blew me away. Too bad Beyonce, maybe next year!

to be honest. i don't really care for her. it's not that she's untalented, but just don't really think what's the big deal. i know this is her 1st acting job, but i think it should be time that other people who acted by her like beyonce and whatshername were and they don't have any recognition. jennifer hudson is ok but took waaaaay too much of the spotlight.
