I am looking for somewhere to go for a night next weekend in MA, CT or NH. I would like it to be romantic and nice but also want to have something to do during the day (and it is winter).

PLEASE HELP. Thank you.

Try Lovett's Inn, which is in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Lots to do in the area, and the rooms are so nice you won't want to leave anyway!

I love the Jackson, NH/North Conway area in the winter - lots to do during the day there. We stayed at the Inn at Ellis River in Jackson last time. The hosts were truly gracious, and the rooms are very romantic. Aside from the beautiful views from the rooms, there are fireplaces, 4 poster beds, etc. It's a great area for winter sports, downhill, X-country skiing, snow shoeing, horse drawn sleighs by Nestle Nook (another great inn, but rather high for $$$). Skating...I could go on and on. Also, if you're not an outdoor person, there's lots of shopping along Rte 16 in North Conway - just 10 minutes away.

Not sure what is open this time of year during the day, but for a romantic night.

Every room has a hot tub.

Then again maybe you won't want to leave the room.

I've been there severeal times and it's great.

Oh, you should try the "Nine" on Tremont Street. It is a boutique hotel made for honeymooners/lovers. They even have the "couples" suite. It's a good location.. next to the Onyx hotel on the Freedom Trail. Google/Yahoo them.
