If you plan on using the personal lube with another person then you want to stay away from baby oil. OIl based lubes make condoms and dental dams break down. You need to use water-based lubes if you plan on practicing safer-sex with someone.
As for what you use on your own it doesn't matter if it's oil or water based.

I like baby oil. It is soothing and has a warm feel. It has never made me break out. If a lube makes you break out, you should not use it anymore.

I always use BOI TOI brand water based lube, its long lasting and feels better than most. I also like Gun Oil though too its not sticky and feels pretty good also.
