The most recent came across in today's Sunday paper 2/26/07. With a human interest in the people in Darfur in westward Sudan. I can not understand why they think this is going away, if we don't face it. This makes me ill, these people have suffered horribly. Over 200,000 have been killed in Darfur & more than $ 2 million driven from their homes by the Islamic ruler in Khartoum, Omar al-Bashir & his militias (the janjaweed). But this is just the tip of the iceberg in what can happen very quickly become a regional war in Africa.

In addition to the genocide in Darfur, the Ethiopia's just fought a war against pro-islamicist. The president of this region risk
being ousted by rebels in a civil war.

There are crises in Ethiopia, Somalia & Chad & everthing is being done to push away the need of the people. Of course
this is done with a reason for the Islamic Rebels, so people will forget about that region & all of the horrors that is placed upon these people. The people of that region do not want an Islamic control in these areas.
Just as actor George Clooney said, "In today's paper, negotiation is not a quick fix." And we know from experience the negotiations with Islam. If help doesn't arrive, the middle east won't be the only region in flames.
When Islamic Militias came through Sudan & Somialia weeks ago a ferious battle took place with goverment soldiers, who are known to be great Warriors and the United States air-craft also attacked the Islamicists.

There is a dire humanitarian conditions and has been for a long time. I read months ago where the Islamnic soldiers came through part of Darfur, raped & tortured the women & children & left the legs of the children broken & left-behind. This is not religion, this is pure EVIL!

The people of Sir.Lanka are facing the same horrors. Let's
remember in our prayers as well.
