I got into comics because I used to date a guy who loved them. I currently play the "City of Heroes" MOG. (that is where my avatar is from). Anyway I find that in the last few years they decided to hide oll the girl's legs. The super Heroine look has seem to have phased out as well as any bikinibottomed look even over the pants like traditional comics. I grew up seing comics and cartoons where the leotard look was in style. One of my favorite cartoons where Shera where everyone went "pantless" lol. Then came the 90's where all the girls wore thongs. Anyway now everyone coveres up..even classic girls like Phylocke, Storm, White Queen, and Which Blade have covered thier legs. This anoys me because hey you don't mess with calssic look and I for one hate it when everyone goes shy. So bottom line is Do you think they should go back to a 80's/90's style or keep covering up?

I have been reading comics for quite a long time and a big collector and nothing is better than long legs and lots of cleavage on a heroine. Your right- many of the 1990s super-women wore barely anything and we have gone back to a provincial mode of dress. The character development should be the centerpiece of course, but lets bring back some bare legs!

Excelsior!

You are totally correct on this one. Just an editorial decision made in the interest of PC and realism. Would you want to fight bad guys in a thong? Heck, Marvel won't show characters smoking these days-which I guess is OK. If the point of comics is to read great stories, then why do we need cleavage-I mean, uh, I have the internet you know, if I want to look at scantily clad women. Having said all that, what about Power Girl's outfit? Black Canary? Elektra? All the women wear skintight bodysuits anyway. I guess I don't care either way- I don't read comics for skin but it certainly doesn't offend me.

I wasn't conscious that revealing look replace into long previous, however I admit it has toned down. i think of at circumstances, they went too some distance, as an occasion, Sue typhoon's stripper outfit, finished with the #4 cut back out superb over her chest. in basic terms because of the fact they placed on extra fabric would not recommend they nonetheless are not attractively drawn. much less clothing isn't continuously extra captivating. look into celeb Trek. i don't understand how something have been given completed with Lt. Uhura and those thick legs on bridge, wager Kirk designed those uniforms. Or Troi from the subsequent technology. whilst they took her out of those 'bunny clothing' and placed her in a prevalent uniform, it took not something removed from her being an captivating female; it in basic terms made her look extra expert, which will have been the ingredient.

Yes; it's juvenile, foolish & non-PC as the dickens, but some things just shouldn't change!

(City of Heroes, hmm...)
