It was still recovering from the effects of world war 1. There was a lot of discontent among the people. Read the first half of Mein Kampf. It actually gives some insight as to the socail climate at the time. I found it pretty interesting. Don't bother with the second half. It's nothing but Nazi propaganda and the ramblings of a madman. I never made it through.

From what I've read it was a lot like America nowadays.
Secret government;rights taken away for the sake of'security;citizens arrested and jailed without charges or rights.There are a lot of parallel.
Please do some research you'll find out for yourself.
In fact the first time I read the expression"The New World Order"it was in a book about the rise of the Third Reich.

Terrible. They were in a serious depression. Rampant inflation. They had to hurry to the grocery store when they got paid so they could find and afford a loaf of bread because the prices rose so rapidly. This is why they were so willing to back Hitler. They saw him as their "savior" so to speak.
