The STL Blues. Everyone says that I'm completely wrong, but even though I'm a Red Wings fan, they have turned themselves around pretty well. Although they have been beaten by the Blackhawks today and traded one of their best players away in Keith Tkachuk, they have really turned around their organization.
They hired Andy Murray from LA (He was fired because they were in 9th place for 3 straight years with only 5 points or less for being into the playoffs), signed Bill Guerin, Eric Brewer, Manny Legace, and more to deals.
When I was visiting family, they had a couple of games where if you sat in the very top section of the arena (I think it's called the Scottrade Center), you could get certain food items for free to try to bring the fans back to the games.
Now, they're honoring decades of Blues hockey because of their 40th anniversary by giving away autographed jerseys (For example, they would give away a Bernie Federko jersey [Not like the retro jerseys, but the exact same jersey that they use today])

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks for many reasons. They got some very experienced veterans for forwards like Teemu Selanne and Todd Marchant. They also got very experience and very good defenseman in Chris Pronger, Scott Niedermayer, Francois Beauchemin, Shane O'Brien (Just because they don't got statistics like Scott and Chris doesn't mean they are bad defenseman, but they are never talked about). They also a great starting goalie in Jean-Sebastien Giguere, with 29-8-7, 2.28 GAA, .919% SV% I believe. They ALSO got a capable backup goalie in Ilya Bryzgalov if Giguere falls down again. So I'd say the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.

Detroit is the best team in the West, Nashville is a close second and a surprise to me, but i think the experience of Detroit will win them the conference, and if they can pick up a Guiren (sp)? or Gary Roberts, that theoretically put them over the top, tough loss to nashville the other night
Go Wings!

Best team is Detroit Redwings no contest. They're loaded with talent and the core of veteran players headed by the NHL's Defense God - Nicklas Lidstrom. Also their scouts seem to be able to pick out really good picks (Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Kronwell) even though they don't draft very high. This translate to an effective farm system and with a core of experienced players and young talent, the future is still looking very bright for the Redwings.

The Red Wings cuz they have the most experience in the playoffs with all of their old players like Chelios and Lidstom. They are also just as skilled as the Predators are, though that signing of Petre Fosberge really hurts the Wings chances of winning the West. Hopefully the Wing will trade for Billy Guerin before the deadline is up.

Hands down, Nashville. From the crease out they are solid. They have 2 goaltenders who can shut down any team. They have strong blue-line that boast very low goals against. They can run 4 killer lines on any given night and have a very high goals for total.
Plus, if you watch them play you can tell that they all want to win and they have terrific chemistry. When Forsberg gets adjusted to not having to do all of the work, he'll hit his stride and put them over the top.

Even though they have slowed a bit since their insane start, I think it's Anaheim's year. I think they have good blend of experienced defense and skilled forwards.
That's just a guess, it's been proven over the last few seasons that any of the 8 teams that make it can make a run.
