if you can afford all that and prefer paying the price and consider paying more for new videocard/CPU/ram upgrades after every year, instead of buying a XBOX360/PS3/Wii and not paying for hardware upgrades for the next 5 yrs, i'd say yea, thats a good configurations. go for it!

as for the question regarding 4gb ram upgrade. you will have to go to AMD's site and get hold of the datasheet/specifcations page of your CPU and see how much RAM it supports. I think Athlon64 supports 2GB maximum, but i'm not sure

I know a few of Intel CPUs support RAM upto 32GBs but then those CPUs are extremely expensive

8-O That's an AMAZING gaming setup! That computer is practically the best thing you can have for gaming! If you are a HARDCORE GAMER WITH A BIG BUDGET, BUY IT!!! You won't be dissapointed.

The only thing better than that is that one crazy Polywell or some other high-end brand with 4 of those cards!

If you're an enthusiast, you could save a lot by moving down to a standard Athlon 64 and getting a Radeon X1650.

For those video games you extremely do no longer want the very cutting-edge and the main suitable option hardware. you could likely do superb with an out-of-the-container Dell or HP that announces to be sturdy for gaming and multimedia. Macs are great for each little thing yet gaming, yet i might follow a computer for now. you're able to do slightly greater advantageous in case you will rather roll your own (I do). you would be wanting: case potential grant (usually comes with case) motherboard CPU RAM (>= a million GB for gaming) video card disk force sound card (in case you do no longer in hassle-free terms like the only equipped into the motherboard) DVD force The mobo is the main serious factor, by way of fact it is going to be sure what different assets you need to purchase. seem for one from a considerable producer, and rather get one with a PCI-exhibit (no longer AGP) port for the photos. you would be waiting to apply a case, DVD force, and sound card from an older device (those do no longer substitute a lot), yet get a potential grant that's bigger than what you think of you would be wanting--underpowered platforms usually fail. shop money by utilising no longer getting the quickest CPU, and spend what you shop on the photos card. Get a photos card from Nvidia, or ATI. you may get a lot (and that i mean a lot) of reliable guidance on components at Tom's Hardware, under. Newegg is a sturdy place to purchase from. sturdy luck, and have relaxing!

This is a great config for gaminig and 2GB RAM is enough to run any game. If you are ready to spend much for games, invest in Geforece 8800GT card instead of 7950. Becoz 8800 is directX10 based but 7950 is DX9. So most of the future games will require DX10. But it costs much now. Please visit

wow. you'll be good for a long while. but as far as the ram goes its a matter of having enough slots on your mother board to fit it.
