Why the hell would you spend the money to clone a cow when you just put a cow out in the pasture with a bull and let them figure out what to do. I'm sure the gestation period is the same. There will probably never be a market for cloned meat due to the expense.

You apparently don't know that a form of cloning of livestock - cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys and others - has been going on for some sixty years worldwide. You've eaten it often and just never knew it. Didn't hurt ya a bit, either! Nor will the current crop of clones - because the cloning technology being developed now is thus far too expensive to make it profitable for farmers. It'll take awhile to iron that factor out - but there is absolutely NO question; cloned beef is perfectly safe to eat. Don't believe the fanatics who insist it'll make your insides grow out through your belly button and attack and devour the family dog!

Quite frankly they can give the OK because there are no problems with it as long as the "host" cow, the original cow to be cloned, is healthy. Just because it's cloned doesn't make a bit of difference. Also, it's not financially equitable or efficient to sell cloned meat anyway.
