You know when you have a true friend when you have no doubt in telling he/she secrets. If they stick up for you or always are there, by your side (I'm not talking about being clingy) then you know that that's you r real friend!

for me, I am sure that i know the meaning of it. i have one. whenever you have problems , true friend will be there for you, no matter what. It doesn't mean,, be with you but it means they are here to listen, even nothing to say. you can check from when you are in difficult time, you need help , is your true friend be with you? Most of the time, when you are happy, people are all around you , they share laughing but when you are sad, are they with you? there are many types of friend, some friends you can share and talk, some friends , you have same lifestyles, ...
No matter what, how far it is, how long it is ,, when you see your true friend again, the thing will the same, no awkward moment. You always know that even how long you don't talk,,every things stay the same.

When there's an unspoken bond of trust between you.
A true friend is someone you can always rely on to be ther no matter how bad things get. They'll listen, and give advice. You can tell them absolutely anything in confidence.

That's just the standard I suppose. When you find a true friend you'll know it in your heart.

They've been there for you through thick and through thin. I have good friends who go back to when we were in high school. They were there when we had our first serious relationships, we upgraded ourselves in education, marriage, babies, divorce, and they're still there full circle. As we get older, we may have less time for each other, but the time we spend together makes up for the time we're apart. One close friend (who was my maid of honour) and I are taking a trip together next week. Looking forward to it. Having Christ in common I think has been our greatest bond.

When you can borrow money and never have to pay it back, when you let them brrow something and you never think of getting it back. If you can trust them and they can trust you, you've got a friend for life.

When you can confide in them completely. When they are trustworthy and loyal. When they never talk behind your back, and when they are always there for you, even at your lowest points.
