I don't think being afraid of pain is a reason to have a c-section. If you don't want pain ask for an epidural.

I would have loved to have had a natural birth, I only had a c-section because I didn't have a choice in the matter. It was an emergency because of the position he was in, there were far too many risks involved with a natural birth in that situation. I hated every minute of the c-section, even though they gave me a epidural so I wouldn't feel anything, I still felt pulling and that something was going on (sort of hard to explain the feeling). They put a curtain up so I couldn't see what was going on, but could still see the reflection of it all on the roof. After they took him out, I only got to hold him for 5 minutes before the took him away and took me to recovery. Once the epidural wore off the pain around the incision area was almost unbearable. Trying to move was painful and frustrating as I needed help to do so. When I was given the green light to have a shower, that didn't go to well as I passed out in the shower. I was in a bit for pain for several week after and now 12 months later I still get sharp pains where the cut me open. All in all it has turned me off having a second child because I don't want to go through a c-section again. If I do have a second child I really hope I get to have a natural birth

Like everyone says, Yes, Natural birth costs a lot less than Caesarean. Both have pains but one is during the delievery time and recover faster (natural birth), but another one is less pain during the delivery but recover slower and pain after birth from the cutting wound (c-section). Moreover, because the recovery time is faster, you can do exercises earlier for your post baby body with natural birth. Doctors recommend natural birth unless you can't push or you have problems such as Herpes outbreak or the vagina doesn't open at the certain time after cramp to give birth.

A ceasarean will hurt more in the longrun! You'll have a longer recovery time, and your muscles will take a long time time to heal...they will be sore for some time! (Because you do know they cut into your abdominal muscles to get to the baby!) Also, the procedure will cost you more, and you'll be charged an extra day or two for hospital stay as opposed to a 2 day stay for vaginal birth. Can you not request an epidural or other painkiller for vaginal birth? Even a natural birth is not THAT bad...i've been there done that, and felt immediately great after the baby came out. Call it 'instantaneous relief'! Go for natural birth, you can always get good drugs if the pain is too much for you.

Well, I gave birth to my daughter naturally; yes it hurt, but not like I thought it would. It was the contractions that hurt, and if you've ever had period pain it's just a stronger version of that. The actual pushing out didn't hurt me as much; by that point all that mattered was concentrating on pushing her out, lol.
So I was conscious when she was born, and I didn't miss any of it, i.e. I could feel when she came out. I think i would feel a little weird if I was deadened or knocked out completely.
I know that a friend of mine - who had to have a caesarean because of health risks to her and the baby - constantly felt robbed afterwards of her natural birth. She was drugged up for a couple of days after to help the pain, and she can't remember those first moments of her daughter's life.
Most of us view going into labour with terror; it's going to hurt, somethings going to go wrong, etc etc. But I think it is better for you emotionally to be as with it as possible during the birth, so in my opinion Natural Birth would be the better option.

A C section scares me. I have had all 3 of my babies natural and am pregnant with my fourth and will have her natural too. You have to remember with a c section you have to heal because it major surgery and take care of a newborn at the same time. Natural is great and over with quickly. The only reason it would take time to heal from a natural delivery is if you tear or something. I never tore and always felt great after each delivery. I cant stand the thought of someone getting a scalpel cutting me open and pulling out a baby while Im laying there awake and ........It just scares me.. I would only do it if it was an emergency and medically necessary.

I had to have a C-section because my daughter was stuck on my pelvic bone. The first day after I couldn't do anything except lie there. They gave me pain meds and that helped but they skipped a dose once and I couldnt even reach over to press the call button because I hurt so bad. My husband had to do it for me. The first day I could walk but a nurse had to help me and I was only on my feet for abuot 2 mins. because I started gushing blood everywhere. It was so embarrassing because I couldnt reach over to clean myself up. I was so lucky to have such a good nurse. The second day I could walk for a little longer if I held on to the back of a wheelchair. Halfway through the third day I was released from the hospital with a prescription for pain meds. I hate taking pills but believe me its absolutely necessary. I havent had a natural childbirth (I only have 1 child thus far) but I bet its way easier than a C-section.

C-sections are becoming too common lately. If the baby or you aren't in danger, then go with the natural birth. One word: EPIDURAL!!

It hurts, but I'd rather give birth naturally. Think about what they cut through for a C-section and how long it takes to heal. Plus the scar can't be fun.

Don't let your doctor allow your baby to be born around his or her schedule.

Why do you think you would need a c-section. Don't do it until you are sure you can't have a vaginal birth. Get an epidural if you are concerned about the pain. C-section is surgery; with vaginal in most cases, you are up and walking in an hour or so (even w/ and epidural) and home as soon as the next day. Please don't put yourself through a c-section unless it's a medical necessity.

There is pain in Both! as far as pain then i would go for natural cause you pay for the c/section for days and weeks after I mean that is a major surgery..... But ur doctor should be able to tell if ur gonna be able to have ur baby natural

Yes, c-sections cost more money... it's MAJOR surgery.
Natural childbirth is always the better option... much quicker recovery. It takes months to recover from a c-section... and if you think there's no pain in a c-section, you're kidding yourself... all the pain comes after.
If you're afraid of pain... get an epidural... they're amazing!!!
