Yes, it is reported that the Queen has a great sense of humour, and that she is a wonderful mimic. Of course, we won't see too much of that side of her (and none of the mimics), but she does love to laugh and have a joke. She has said that if she had had her way, she would have preferred being a woman who lived a simple life in the country, with her dogs and some horses. We also have to remember that everything she does or says is under scrutiny. The cameras are always watching.

Apparently, she has an excellent sense of humour and is so good at keeping a `straight` face in public, because she has had so much practice at it ! Just because she is the Queen, it dosen`t mean that her body and brain work differently from ours, of course she laughs and giggles and plays practical jokes. There is one story that she tells herself :- She was hosting a reception for various diplomats from the common wealth, and as each one entered the room her secretary who was standing at her side , would tell her the name of the person and introduce them. As one man was about to enter the room her secretary leaned over and whispered in her ear, "The next gentleman, ma rm, looks a bit like a monkey" She said that she could barely keep a straight face as she shook hands with him, because he did fit the description exactly. Of course she has fun !

Only when she absolutely must. Then she still looks much the same but inside under all that stoic British stiff upper lip is a smile that only she knows. The Queen is a public institution with very private emotions.

I think she does. I've seen few programs about her private side. She really enjoys horse racing, so I'm sure she has fun at any of the races she goes to. Also, people who have known her say she has a quick wit, so I imagine she has a good sense of humor and laughs a lot. I'd think you'd have to with some of the stuff she has to put up with.

She actually has a very good sense of humor, able to poke fun at herself and others.
I really hope she does-she seems like a selfless person, and she deserves it!

Outside of work (not that there is an 'outside'), she enjoys polo, horses in general, her dogs, and vacationing with her family at Balmoral.

she's pretty buttoned up, but the story is that she loves her doggies and horses and plays a mean game of charades.
