what is that movie with guys who drowns all the girls in the bottom of a lake?

the one where some writer acts out his novel and holds girls captive and then pretends to set them free but he really drives them out to the middle of a lake and lets them sink to the bottom.

Cabin By The Lake with Judd Nelson as the serial killer author. There's a sequel but it's really cheesy and not as good as the first movie. I actually really liked the first one.
