I think that it's cute! I'd go to a nail salon and ask if they can give you a professional manicure with YOUR black polish! It will look great! Observe the way that they put it on and next time, duplicate the look your self! Good luck! =)

I have a pretty similar style. I dress rather preppy, although I do wear dark eyeliner (it doesn't look gothic or anything). I always always have black nails. I re-paint them about once a week and for the first two days or so they are perfect then they begin to chip. I actually prefer the chipped look, lol. But if you want them to be neat, the "three simple stroke" suggestion sounds the easiest. Or you could always opt for using a permanent marker, like a Sharpie. That's what Avril Livigne used, and her nails looked great.

Hey! If you get paint on the side of your nails then you can take it off the skin and cuticle neatly with one of those nail polish remover pens. It looks like a marker, but it has acetone in it instead of ink. You can get it at any pharmacy/drugstore in the makeup/nailpolish section. If you can't afford one, just use a q-tip dipped in fingernail polish remover, just blot the extra nailpolish remover off of the q-tip 1st to make it a bit neater.

use a base underneath then paint them then use a top coat. If it gets all over the skin around your nails, then after your nails dry, dip a q-tip in some nail polish remover and clean it up. make sure your nails aren't ridgy, when they are nice and smooth it makes application a lot easier.

I paint my nails black all the time.
You can take see-through tape and put a teeny strip beside your fingernail on each side, so that you wont paint your skin. Mom's will have to get used black nails, because they are very cool!

I think it's an awesome nail polish color! If you just paint lightly - start with the middle, then do one side, and then do the other. Three simple strokes. Then let it dry and do another coat. Have fun =)

If you really want a neat maniqure, then salons do if just fine. But to do it yourself, it just takes a practice. Also I personally don't like black nailpolish. I prefer French maniqure.

i locate that once you're donning black, short nails do look extra appropriate, yet black does provide the phantasm of shorter nails so it really is okay to strengthen them out slightly extra. maximum individuals agree that black on lengthy nails is slightly atypical, i have tried it and it seems superb see you later as they're no longer too lengthy. save them sq. once you're going to placed on them lengthy.

I'm just glad my daughter dumped the emo kid she was seeing, cause he wore more makeup than she did, and had black nailpolish, and didn't have a clue how to take care of himself. There's a serious problem with the way teenagers portray themselves today, and I don't care how liberated and openminded you are.
