Is the "Zoom mrs802bcd 8 track digital multitrack recorder (with cd-r/rw)" a good choice for a digital multitrack recorder in a home studio?? I'm trying to set a home studio which doesn't rely, or center so much on a computer. If not, what's the best choice?? thanks.

Yeah, the Zoom MRS802bcd is a good digital recorder and Sam Ash is a good dealer. It's hard to say what's best for you without knowing a lot more details about what you're trying to do and your budget. I'd first use a PC-based recorder but there's much to be said for a standalone product like the Zoom MRS802.
