As a former Ohioan and Ohio State fan currently living in Florida, you can imagine how dismayed I was by the Buckeyes' humiliating loss to the Gators in BCS Championship Game. Regarding your question: I believe that on the recent signing day for high school recruits, OSU didn't rank so highly. (I think that Florida was first on the list.) Nevertheless, I am hopeful that Ohio State will be a major player on the national scene next year, particularly since Jim Tressel is from the same city I am (Berea). I think that he is an excellent coach generally and will get the most possible from his team; still, I don't know what happened against Florida except that possibly the Buckeyes just had too much time off after the Michigan game (the Wolverines were also routed by USC, so that might have at least been a contributing factor).

They probably finish fourth or fifth in the Big Ten. Losing Troy Smith hurt, losing both Ginn and Gonzalez was major, and losing Pittman on top of those three means that the offense needs some rebuilding. The Buckeyes will probably still beat Michigan given Carr's horrible track record, but they will have a tough time beating Wisconsin and Penn State.

they will be in the top 25, but they will finish third in the big ten and out of a bcs bowl...they will still have a good running game and defense, but they obviously lost their QB, as well as their starting receivers and key return man...unless they prove otherwise, i would have to say that a team that can get ahead of the buckeyes can beat them easily because there will be little to no big play element for this team

we will have to rebuild big time on offense, and our defensive line must be rebuilt... our biggest ? is WHO will become our next LEADER at the qb slot...
we will have a mediocre season, but, if we defeat meeeeechigone woooolveweeenies, and win our bowl game (hopefully we won't be SO mediocre that we cannot make it to a bowl), then we should rightfully have better expectations for '08...
GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!!!!!1
