What order does the preface, acknowledgment, contents, introduction go.
then appendix and glossary and index ect ect at the end?

is anything missing?
or what is the right order?

The most common series I've seen is this:
Acknowledgment (right before or after the title page)
Contents (with page #s for all following parts)
Preface
Introduction
MAIN TEXT
Glossary
Appendix

Look at gutenberg.org
loc.gov has that data also.
The way those are arranged is the Editors doing, some are different.
That is pretty much the right order for a book.
