My friend and I were talking about floaters. Apperently there is this time when you fall asleep and your dreams are real only you have floated into another plain. When you jolt in your sleep you are reentering your body and or when you feel the "hag" on top of you it's really just you trying to enter your body. Do any of y'all believe in this? Does anyone have experiences? Help me believe it. I have the jolts but not the "hag". Someone please explain this whole phenomenon to me. Is it past lives or what the heck is it?

Don't believe it. It's just that your brain is trying to relax - and your body trying to fall asleep. You jolt when you're almost on the edge of going to sleep - and your senses (and brain) cause you to jerk awake. It's normal. There is nothing paranormal about it, so don't worry.

I think the person who told you about this has confused "OBE (Out-of-Body-Experience) with something else (Astral Travel). OBE's are when you apparently have your 'inner self' or 'soul' come out during sleep - and it sorta floats over your body. It's not known that OBE's result in 'wondering off' to other places, like to the local park or anything - but during an OBE, you usually dream of floating/flying/hovering over your own body.

Astral Travel on the other hand, is travelling based. Most people who experience it claim they travel through a 'white tunnel' or towards a light of some kind. Others claim they meet god. Some claim something about another so called 'plain'... Basically, the stories vary - but it shouldn't be confused with an OBE.

Out of body experiences aside.

I was told that its your body going into close down, so you don't fall out of bed, run and walk in your sleep etc., You dream, you may flinch a bit, but you stay in the bed because the brain switches off the body. Some times the switch short out a bit, hence, the falling sensation, and the HAG - you are still in a form of paralysis, it just feels like you are being held down??

Its a medical condition, not really a lot known about it.

Yes when you dream you leave your body.

The jolt is just the body's way of reconnecting body and soul quickly.

There are actually three parts of the soul. In Jewish vernacular they are the the nefesh, ruach, and neshammah.

the nefesh is the body's consciousness. The ruach is your mind's consciousness (this is the part of the soul that wanders as you sleep.

When the body's consciousness nefesh becomes frightened; it snaps the ruach back into the body so you can take conscious action to fight the monster in your dreams, or run away from the burning building.

The third part of the soul is your neshammah (like your quardian angel that protects you through life.

In Kakota vernacular the three parts of the soul is nagi, nagapi, tunkashila

In Hawai'ian vernacular they are the unihipili, uhane, and 'aumakua.

I've experienced it many times. It is a very simple thing though, nothing to do with hags or devils on your back. It's simply the experience of having your mind wake up before your body is able to. This is a very scary feeling because you are unable to move or speak while mentally you are completely awake. The body always catches up in just a few moments and everything is fine. I think it happens to those of us who sleep more soundly than others - a deeper state of relaxation. My wife deals with alot of stress and seldom sleeps well. She has never had the experience.

I have heard a lot of people say this is your spirit re entering your body or trying to leave your body, but I think it is just your muscles reacting to your sleep patterns. I experience this mainly when i am very tired or troubled about something.

I have never heard of it being called Floaters, but I think I know where you are coming from...I call it OBE (outer body experiences) I myself have experiences of the such when I thought I was dreaming and turns out to be not so.

Outer body experiences is when your spiritual self leaves your body and travels into a different realm or think of it as a form of time traveling but into the very near future which is usually what happens to me when I do experiences the OBE's.

We are all stuck in a time bubble of some sort When you leave your body your actually going back to where you really are .

Reality is one big and good illusion and hard to get out of.
Try to change reality without thinking about it just like you do in your sleep .You don't think in your sleep as you are now things are just there .Apply that same principle in your conscious mined and anything is possible .Kind of like looking at your dreams while awake

I never heard of the Hag.
And the post was about Poop? Please.
I think that the poster "dad" was really right on.
What you have experienced is real
Have you ever had a really intense dream and woken up exhausted?
Some believe that is caused by Astral Travel.
It takes enormous amounts of energy to astrally travel, and then there's the problem with re-entering your body.
Do some reading on it; it's good fun.
Good luck.

okay... so... you know those "jolts" you feel? Your body can't tell the difference between falling asleep and dying. So, when you feel those "jolts" your muscles are just trying to keep themselves alive. Everyone experiences these "jolts."

And I too thought you were talking about poop.

Doctors have said that when people experience this feeling it is our body's way of telling us to wake up a breath! We all do it! It's God way of snapping us out of it and taking a breathe
