My daughter is aged 6 and these are the sites that we go onto:

http://www.millsberry.com/index.phtml

[Of course, I do explain to her that this is advertising and she understands this. But I like the fact they have the characters build up their intelligence, civics and physical fitness in order to be a healthy person in their town. It also has some good lessons on the cost of items (food, clothes and toys). The town even has a bank and you can save your "Millsbucks." I think of this one as a wonderful activity to do together and then talk about it.]

Here is the NASA kids website, for science info:
http://www.nasa.gov/audience/forkids/kidsclub/flash/index.html

Also, her younger sisters (3 year old twins) like this website:

http://www.thewiggles.com.au/

Just look around and explore on the web with your child to find some fun websites.

Peace & take care,
debm

PS: For older kids, there is the Coke Music website:
http://www.mycoke.com/index.html?tunnel=cokemusic

But I would strongly caution any parent to monitor activity there, since there is a lot of young people hitting on each other there. [It is a fun activity to create little music songs from the samples and then play it in the various venues. When my oldest was 18 months, she used to sit on my lap and watch this site when I was on it. She was able to say which one was Japan on the world map.]
