I guess that's what we do. I watch poeple. But not the same people all the time. One day I'll stare at someone and another day I don't even want to see them and stare at another person. This happens at work frequently. Males and females all the same, it has nothing to do with sexual attraction.

I agree. I could spend hours in a bar/club/cafe/park watching people. I stare at them for ages because I am making up stories about their lives in my head. They're always really complicated unrealistic stories as well. And for some reason, everyone in my stories is orphaned. My staring has nothing to do with attraction, although I suppose that there must be some reason I started looking at that one specific person in the first place...

I like to watch people when they don't realize I am watching. For instance, I like to sit in a cafe by the window and eat, read the paper and watch the people who walk by. It's how I learn more about life. But I don't stare, because I dislike others staring at me.

We watch other people because we want to learn and discover something, If we found out that there's nothing with that person then we'll look for another one.

When you stop and stare at anyone for whatever, its because while you were walking aimlessly something caught your eye. Since your out takeing a walk with nothing to do you stop aimlessly because your mind is wondering do to lack of perception with nothing in it to do.

well, i guess sometimes we like to look at someone who we dont know for a long time, i think everybody does it. sometimes its just because u r tired and u just stare something for a long time not knowing what u r doing, usually at someone or at a objest in front of u.

it is a little know fact that humans spontaneously combust if they are stared at long enough. seriously, people are the goofiest, most ridiculous and pointless creatures ever created (or evolved). you can't help but stop and watch the utterly stupid crap they do.

For me it's fascinating to watch 'people'.
I watch and I wonder, "How does their brain produce enough of an electrical impulse to maintain motor function ?"
