Neither!! The giant octopus grows to around 30 ft, in length and the giant squid was estimated to grow up to 43 ft long. The colossal squid is estimated to grow more than 46 ft. The longest ever caught weighed 990 lbs and was 39 ft. long. If you want to see pics it, google colossal squids.
Because giant octopi are the only ones who have been observed while living (as in not caught and killed), no one knows which is faster, stronger, or smarter.

Giant Squid, without a doubt.
Even better a Collossal Squid is bigger, longer, stronger, faster and smarter of the former two species.

The Giant octopus (indeed, all octopus) is very intelligent. There is not much known about The Giant Squid. However, all of these mollusks can be very strong; particularly under water. If this sounds strange, octopi can briefly live out of water and are greatly reduced in their strength.

The giant, deep-sea squid is certainly bigger, faster, and stronger. But so little is known about it, it's difficult to say if it's any smarter or even as smart.

We are finding new species in the ocean constantly. To say that a squid is larger than an octapus or visa verse is very hard to say, only becuase we have not truly been able to travel to the depths of the sea to find what awaits. And as far as proving which is smarter, stronger, or faster... i don't believe our tests could accuratly prove such a thing.
