I found on usps.com that they are going to be releasing stamps sometime in 2007 that are to be used to mail wedding invitations and reply cards, but I cannot find a release date for the stamps. The stamps are called "Wedding Hearts". Does anybody know when the stamps are going to be released. I am hoping soon, as I am getting married in June and so I will be mailing my invitations in April. Thanks for your help!

The new "wedding hearts" stamps are currently scheduled to be issued on June 27, although the date could change, so they will be too late for your April mailing.

You can use last year's wedding stamps (very classy design) with additional postage if needed. The USPS has not announced a firm date for the rate increase, but rumors are that it will be May 6, so in that case just use the wedding stamps from 2006. For the most up-to-date information on US stamp issues, go to http://www.virtualstampclub.com/2007usnew.html If you click on the name of the wedding stamp, you can see a picture of it.

Stamps with your own picture cost quite a bit more but are definitely interesting: go to http://www.endicia.com or http://www.zazzle.com for details.

The problem is there is an impending rate increase. The USPS does not know yet what the one and two ounce letter cost will be until the Board of Governors votes. The likely date of the rate increase is May 6, 2007.

That will put the release of the wedding heart stamps on a tight deadline to be printed. I'm afraid you will have to keep on watching USPS.COM for the final news or check with your local postmaster.

For my wedding invitations I used stamps that are called Our Wedding on the USPS website. They are purple with like a dove and a heart. They were pretty, better than just any old stamp. I got married in October of 06, so if they stamps you are looking for are unavailable there is another option. Also, I'm unsure how this works but I have seen stamps with peoples own picture on them. That could be something you could consider as well.

I don't know. But I go to the post office every morning on my way to the office. I will ask tomorrow and add to this tomorrow night if you'd like. My daughter is also getting married in June so I would like to know too. Congrats!
***Sorry it took me an extra day to ask. The only new stamps they have due out are with birds on them. They do already have some really pretty stamps with a heart made from flowers (?), they have backgrounds in pink or purple. Hopes this helps.
