How to set up home network w/ Macbook?

Question

We have 1 PC hooked up through verizon DSL. I will be getting the new Macbook pretty soon now. How do I set up a network so both computers can be on the internet at the same time. What equipment do I need? Also, I will be moving into my own apartment in a few months, is there any additional equipment, other than any equipment needed for my previous question, I will need to be able to wirelessly access the internet in my own apartment (other than an internet service). Can u please define the following terms:

router
modem
airport
bluetooth
wi-fi

Ok...first things first the new Macbook has a Wireless Card built right in called Airport* it alows the computer to find wi-fi* (wireless frequencys) and networks sourounding the computer within 300 Ft. (distance may vary). If you have your PC connected directly to your Verizon Modem* (Communicator between Service Provider and the Network) this shows tha the home is not wireless at the moment. We would need to change this setup. You will need to purchase what is called a Router* (communicator between modem and network), there are many different name brands i personaly prefer Netgear which is easiest to setup. So the new set up would be Disconecting the PC frome the verizon modem, and hooking it into the Netgear router, then hook up the netgear router to the Verizon Modem. With this set up now your PC is online and you'll have to set up a wireless network, which will now allow your Macbook to get online, at the same time as your PC......

Now bluetooth* (a way inwhich devices comunicate), you can look at it like this a USB cable is a way devices communicate back and forth, bluetooth on the other hand does the same thing with in 30 Ft. yet it does it wirelessly.

All you will need is a router. After setting up the router, open System Preferences > Network > Assist Me... > Assistant.. and follow the instructions.
You can also use Finder's Help, just search for internet connect.
