like a world w/out emphasis on money, or materialism. a world of togetherness. peace. love. do things that help the environment and people. the only thing that's going on in this world is the rich screwing over the poor. can't we do something?

It would be nice but I don't think a utopia is possible, if we're being realistic. Change & control what you can: yourself & your own life. You can't control anyone else. You can't make North America stop being capitalistic. Money talks. You can however choose to live your life without an emphasis on materialism. You can live with peace & love & do your part to help the poor.

As Mother Teresa said "We can do no great things in this world, only small things with great love." So do something yourself if it's something you're passionate about. Do your little part to help (volunteer in soup kitchens, give to charities, help the poor yourself) and your good deeds may have a domino effect impacting others.

We can't change the whole world but we can change our little corner of it & if enough of us do that, we may actually change the world (bear in mind though that there will always be cruel, selfish, evil people with no concern for others & you'll probably never convert them -- & many of these people are in positions of power in society -- we can't do much about them so leave them be. You can still make a difference in your own life & the lives of those you encounter.)

Good luck.

The world will never be perfect but it can still be beautiful & every kind act helps...

The problem with this is that everyone has a different perfect world. For some it is to have all the money there is and for others it is to share wealth for the common good. For som it is working hard to keep the environment in good shape for others it is getting the biggest fastest car and driving it all over. Radicals, such as the Nazis thought the perfect world was free of Jews. Everyone has a different idea of the perfect world and they will never be able to compromise as good as a perfect world sounds.

--QUOTE from Glasshouse-- no, we all have a different idea of the perfect world. probably many similarities as unto what the ideal is. however many different ways to get there. that is basically what we have now, everyone in a struggle to atain and hold onto their own perfect world. good theory you have, but it never will happen. --

Glasshouse - this is a very good answer. We all want the same thing, but take different paths to get there. My idea of Utopia may not be yours, but unless we effectively communicate our perceived Utopia to each other, and with compromise, Utopia will always be just out of reach. We are all different persons.

If every single human being agreed on a tropical oasis in the Pacific as Utopia, imagine how boring and robot-like it would be after a while?

You have answered your own question. It will always be a world of money because that is how the rich run the financial society. And they have an influence on the world of politics. And politics run the country and most of the world. They get what they want and change only what they want. To change the world, we would have to change the thinking of the very rich and influential.

This is about the struggle between good and evil, and it does exist. Whenever there is something someone can make evil out of, they will. That is why there needs to be good, to keep evil in its place. And, that place is Hell.

You can just look at the world today and see that there is no such thing as good versus evil, because good is gone. All there is, is evil. So, there is no struggle. What bothers me is America seems to think it is not evil, but it is dark. The answer to your question is that there is no good versus evil. There is only evil versus evil.

I don't care who disagrees. I am not going to pretend that some manner of society justifies what goes on today. It is all wicked to the core.

The worst thing that have happened in history have always begun with the best intentions! Most people profess to be doing thing for the better but very few are Enlightened enough to fit the bill, and so conflict of interest and violent conflict is born1

your decisions change the world that you live in everyday. even your thoughts. the rich screwing the poor is not the only thing going on. why does it seem that way to you? you can do alot. look around.

Life already is perfect. The world already is perfect.
There is balance.
We have tried to make everything better with medicine and technology.
There's all kinds of polution and despair because we keep saving so many people (self included, mind you- I don't belong here).
It's all a balance.
We would have been better off not tampering with it.

God put adam & eve on earth to punish them for their sins and he said you will live in eternal hell.

humans are sinners, possessed by evil thought, destructive behaviors. i'm not preaching, i'm just saying, you're expecting a bit too much.

don't worry about what everyone else is doing, just do your part, you can't change the world.

btw, it's not only about the rich screwing over the poor. the poor screw over the poor too.
