Um...it matters not whether the ground hog sees his shadow or not there are still 6 more weeks of winter. March 21st (the first day of Spring) is 6 weeks after groundhog's day. The only difference the shadow makes is the wording. 6 more weeks of winter or 6 weeks until spring.

I can't believe anything Phil does or says. His entire family is not even sure they are not mixed with a wood chuck back in their history. Ever since I heard that, I didn't trust him. He has also been known to sneak out earlier than the media arrives to see what is going on too.

THINK ABOUT IT. If the groundhog sees his shadow it's 6 weeks until spring if he doesn't it's 6 more weeks of winter. BOTH ARE THE SAME.

i think it depends what part of the country you live in .as for me i live in the central valley ca. and we are having a very mild end of winter. as a matter of fact if we dont get some rain we are screwed. our ag situation is grim ,we have trees coming out of dormancy and blooming four weeks early what is that going to do to our grape crop and tree fruit??? so don't rely on punks a tonny phil he don't know his @ss from a whole in the ground ok.

I guess the groundhog has a 50 % chance of getting it right. Like our medium and long term weather reports! LOL
