I do enjoy reading erotic novels. If it's crucial to the storyline, I love it in my mainstream novels, but if it's just thrown in there, I could care less, and prefer them to leave it out.

Basically, I think sex is important to peoples' lives, whether they're not having any, having it with themselves, are seeking it, are avoiding it, or are doing it . . . it's always a crucial part. And I think sex is one of the most amazing mediums of emotion- a sex scene in a novel is a brilliant way to show emotion and character development; sex scenes don't have to be just about lust or love, but can show fear, anger, self-discovery . . . the list goes on. For people who skillfully incorporate sex heavily in their novels with this purpose, and not just for salacious thrills, will definitely get a thumbs up from me.

If I want to get off, I'll read an erotic novel, and I don't need the dog-eared page in a science fiction novel. If I want a complete human experience that is well-written, I'll happily accept sex in it.

Hope that helps!

I like some in it. If you really want some good ones to read, try anything by Laurell K. Hamilton. She's my favorite author right now. Her series Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter is great!! So is her Merry Gentry series. Both have a lot of sex in them, and it's done tastfully, but gets the point across. Great read with adventure and excitement and love all rolled into one. They are in the sci-fi section.

Well, since adults do have sexual relations and I am an adult, I do like some sex in my novels. Just not over the top, just a little icing is good, thank you.
