Kidd would be a huge upgrade for the Lakers at the 1 guard...why else do you think they tried to get him(Doc finally offered cash and draft picks but Thorn wanted Bynum, one of the Lakers keys to rebuilding)...great hands, strong defender who rebounds smartly, streaky shooter but smart enough to go to the hole when shot is off, one of the top distributors in the league...even this far into his career...the Lakers have none of these qualities in their current 1 guards...would also create better spacing for Kobe to move without ball and allow him more one on one matchups...front line players would get better scoring/rebounding opportunities with better spacing and better distributor...

Jason Kidd isnt the answer what the Lakers need is for Kobe to change his game up and try to get better skilled players around him, Jason may be some use but lets not say he's gonna bring the Lakers to the finals he hasnt done that with Vince Carter and the Nets and the Nets have some good assets other then Vince Carter they have RJ, Kristic, Eddie House, Marcus Williams and other young players, remember J-Kidd may be a team leader and great player but the Lakers already got a good team leader and great basketball player: Kobe i hope this may give you a little bit more info about the two and their teams

of course. someone to work with Kobe, and Kobe will no longer have to play with a bunch of zombies. Kidd can putt up numbers on any night and is a great passer.
